AdSense Account Activation Process in Blogger

Update May 3rd 2021: If you are having difficulties in AdSense activation process, read this new article: How to Create AdSense Account Using Blogspot URL - Fixing "AdSense doesn't know about your blog.

After you have finished signing up for AdSense for the first time, you will
need to activate the account first before you can actually use it. You will
notice that you won't be able to access all of the AdSense's features right
away.

An activated AdSense Account will allow you to add multiple blogs, update the
payment address details, review reports, and manage ad units. Recently, one of
my visitors (Coding Wallah
which is a qualified blogspot), asked me a question related to this problem.

Update July 29th 2020: AdSense activation process using blogspot domain may be affected by
Blogger's new update. If you are using custom domain, the activation
process is still the same.

Things That You Need to Know Regarding AdSense Account Activation

In order to activate an AdSense account, you need to have one approved
website.
It can be a Blogger website with custom domain
or a blogspot. If you would like to monetize multiple websites, you have to wait for your
first websites to be approved.

You should not sign up for multiple AdSense accounts using multiple
websites.
You can add additional websites in AdSense account after the activation
process is completed. In fact, AdSense only allows one account for one person.

An AdSense account which has not been activated yet will only display one
card on the home page
. It contain the confirmation code which is used to connect your first
website with the account. You need to put the code inside the blog's
<head>.

AdSense team will be able to review your website after you have insert the
code
. AdSense will send you the activation status via email, whether you are
approved or need to resolve some issues. If your website is approved, your
AdSense account will be activated. If your website is rejected, do not worry,
you just need to fix the problem.

You need to fix your first website until it gets approved by AdSense. Sign in to AdSense and verify that you have resolved the problem.
AdSense will review your website again.

AdSense Activation Process with Example

For example, you have two websites, http://yellow.com and
http://blue.com. You want to
sign up for AdSense for the first time using http://yellow.com. Go
to AdSense website and follow the registration process.

Then, AdSense will provide you with confirmation code which is specifically
used to connect http://yellow.com
to AdSense. You can find this code from
your AdSense Homepage. You need to put the code inside the <head> tag
within the blog theme.

Do not put the code inside http://blue.com. Right now the code is only
intended to activate http://yellow.com.

After that, AdSense will review http://yellow.com. After several days, you
may receive an email which says that your application has been rejected.
AdSense will provide you with the reasons. You need to fix the problem. Then
sign in to your AdSense account and confirm that you have resolved the
problem.

If things go well, your website will be approved and your AdSense account is
activated
. If you get rejected again, you need to keep fixing
http://yellow.com until the website is approved. After that, you will be
able to edit your payment info and manage the ads for http:/yellow.com.

Now, you can add your second website, http://blue.com. Go to your
AdSense account > Sites > Add Site. AdSense will provide you with
confirmation code which is the same code that you have used in
http://yellow.com

You can also use the code that you get from AdSense > Ads > Overview
> Get Code
. This code is the same as the AdSense auto ad code. AdSense team
will review http://blue.com just like how they reviewed
http://yellow.com.

Conclusion

AdSense registration process is quite complex. It is also not instantaneous.
This is intentional in order to deter scammers. AdSense will not make it easy
for you to get approved. But it will also motivate you to increase the quality
of your website.

After your AdSense account is activated, you will be able to earn from the ads
revenue. And after your income has reached certain threshold, AdSense will
require you to do multiple verification processes.

You will need to verify your identity, address and bank account. AdSense's
verification process will take even longer than the account activation
process. Address verification, for example, may take months depending on how
fast your PIN can arrive.

Earning from AdSense is not as easy as you think. Comment below if you find
the instruction too difficult, I'll guide you step by step so that you can
activate your account.  It is a long journey but your effort will be
worth it once you receive your first income!
