Letter to a Hole in the Wall

Hello, I couldn't help but overhear

that lately you've been feeling hollow.

Routine feels empty, you fizzle, disappear.

Perhaps days move too fast and you can not flow.

You have them around, companions without ears,

perhaps you found them too dull, too shallow.

You ask me what should you do?

Well, honestly I don't really know.

Will it get easier? I think so.

What I did do, burst of impetuses I follow.

Stand closer to the edge,

touch the fire burning bright.

Move forward, turn left, speeding,

don't stop. A movement of living.

Open the gate of knowing.

Open the gate of feeling.

Step back, turn right, crawling,

then stopping. A moment of living.

P.S.

There are days when you feel like the harder you try, the more detached you get. Stuck in a dull routine, without close friends who can excite you, or having a moment of joy with no one to share it with.

There are times when you feel like you are hitting a dead end, and getting stupider, and frustrated that you can't keep up. Then you start to worry about the future, or the past.

It's cliche to say, but don't give up.

Recently I found out that burst of impulses, a moment of courage, a small break through, a spur in the moment activities, can set the gears of life to move again. I realize that we need to surprise ourselves more often.

Having a priority is good thing, but don't forget that there's also more to life than just that one thing. Take a different route when you get home after school. Thrill ourselves with different flavor of ice cream and talk to that person who sit next to you. But also, don't forget to slow down and appreciate the moment.

Your friend.
